Wokingham Borough Council's planning meeting tonight postponed

By Laura Herbert

Wokingham Borough Council's planning meeting scheduled to take place tonight has been postponed.

The committee was due to discuss plans to build a road linking Reading Road and Station Road to ease congestion in the town centre.

The plans include a transport interchange, new signal junctions and improved cycle ways and footpaths.

Plans for Station Link Road to be discussed

A decision on an application to expand Twyford Orchards onto green belt land to reduce overcrowding was also expected to be made tonight.

The expansion will increase the number of pitches from 16 to 20 and will house people already living on the site and is not intended to allow more people to move into the council-owned Traveller site.

The meeting was postponed due to an administrative error and is expected to take place later this month.

UPDATE: The meeting will now be held on Wednesday, January 16 , at the council's offices in Shute End, starting at 7pm.
