River levels to remain high with more rain to come

By David Millward
December 30, 2012

The level of the River Thames is expected to remain high for the next few days, the Environment Agency (EA) says.

A flood alert still exists on the river from Mapledurham to Sonning but while low lying land and roads are expected to succumb the EA says no properties are currently at risk.

A flood warning is in place on the River Loddon at Twyford, Charvil and Wargrave and an alert remains on the Lower River Loddon with the levels particularly high around Winnersh and Sindlesham.

Sonning Bridge remains closed due to flooding and the Loddon Bridge park and ride in Winnersh will not be operating tomorrow.

Showers are forecast throughout today and heavy rain is expected tomorrow.
