Free six week gym passes for people with health and medical condtions

By Laura Herbert
December 28, 2012

Free gym passes for six weeks are up for grabs for people aged 14 to 25 years with health or medical conditions.

They are also on offer to young people involved with Wokingham Borough Council’s youth offending, community safety, community development and youth services.

The free passes are available thanks to funding from Sportivate, a Sport England initiative which gives young people access to sport sessions for six weeks.

There is also the chance for two young people to train as a gym instructor. Adam Godwin, physical activity health mentor, said: “We hope it will have a positive impact on youngsters’ lives.”

For more information please call Adam Godwin on (0118) 974 3729 or email adam.godwin@wokingham.gov.uk.

Free gym pass to offenders? This is the sort of waste of money that should cut. Reward them with hours of community service not free swims and saunas.

This arcticle provides very little information. However since many of these young people will be out of work one presumes that some consideration has been given as to how they will get to the gym.
