Heavy rain brings misery for motorists

Drivers are facing flooded roads this morning after heavy showers overnight.
The Loddon Bridge Park and Ride in Winnersh is closed this morning with two flood warnings issued on the River Loddon and River Pang.
Emmbrook Road is closed between A329 Reading Road and Commons Road because of flooding under a railway bridge. The Lands End ford in Park Lane, Charvil, remains closed because of raised water levels.
Church Road in Shinfield is closed between Church Lane and Basingstoke Road due to flooding together with Sandford Lane in Woodley.
The Environment Agency has placed warnings on the Loddon from Waltham St Lawrence to Swallowfield including Winnersh, Woodley, Shinfield and Arborfield and the Pang from East Ilsley to Pangbourne.
Flash floods have also been reported near Sonning and Playhatch.
The Met Office has issued yellow and amber warnings for parts of London and South East England forecasting cloudy and windy weather with persistent and often heavy rain for much of today with a maximum temperature of 10°C.
Tonight will continue to be cloudy with outbreaks of rain initially but becoming dry later in the evening with just the possible odd shower.
Friday will be dry with some bright spells at times and temperatures around average for the time of year.
The outlook for Saturday to Monday is windy with a risk of gales with further spells of rain expected.
