Phone-line support for Jimmy Savile inquiry

By Becky Barnes
December 19, 2012

A phone line has been set up for anyone who has information about Jimmy Savile’s roles or abuse at Broadmoor Hospital.

The Department of Health has set up specific threads of investigation following allegations Savile abused his position of trust and abused patients at the hospital in Crowthorne.

Anyone with information related to the Broadmoor Hospital investigation is urged to contact savileinvestigations@dh.gsi.gov.uk or call 0800 783 5865.

People can also write to the Department of Health at Savile Investigations, Richmond House, 79 Whitehall, London, SW1A 2NS.

A Department of Health spokesman said: “We recognise the sensitive nature of the information we are seeking and are aware that it may not be easy to come forward.”

People who need support can contact the Association for People Abused in Childhood (NAPAC) on its free confidential support line: 0800 085 3330 or www.napac.org.uk
