PROTESTeRS’ objections against plans for five new homes on the Woodley Lawn Tennis Club site have been supported by the town council.
Twenty residents went to Woodley Town Council’s Plans Committee meeting in October to voice their concerns over a planning application for five detached homes in Silver Fox Crescent, stating the development would be intrusive, cramped and overdeveloped.
A letter of objection has been sent by the protesters who believe plans would cause sewage and water quality problems, affect bats and reptiles living in the area and lead to a loss of privacy for surrounding bungalows. Following the comments the committee strongly recommends the application be refused.
The tennis club left the site this year to join Wokingham Tennis Club at its new home in Sindlesham.
