November 26, 2012

Flooding is expected to hit more than 200 homes near Wargrave as relentless rain forced the closure of a number of roads this morning.

A flood warning has been issued for the River Thames at Shiplake, Lower Shiplake and Wargrave.

The warning from Shiplake to Bolney Court could affect 241 properties.

Flood alerts are in place for the Emm Brook, the River Thames from Mapledurham to Sonning and the Lower River Loddon including Swallowfield, Arborfield, Shinfield, Barkham, Lower Earley, Sindlesham, Winnersh, Woodley, Twyford, Charvil, Wargrave, Hurst and Waltham-St-Lawrence.

Loddon Bridge Park and Ride is closed due to flooding, as is Mill Lane in Winnersh between Mole Road and Lower Earley Way.

Sandford Lane in Woodley is closed due to flooding as is Emmbrook Road in Wokingham because of flooding under the railway bridge.

A321 Sandhurst Road closed due to a burst water main.

The Lands End ford in Charvil remains closed due to raised river levels.
