Help keep vomiting virus out of Royal Berks

November 14, 2012

With an outbreak of the winter vomiting virus, the Royal Berks is making a plea to keep it out of the hospital.

There are reports of cases in schools and residential homes in the Reading area.

Jenny Wyeth, lead nurse for infection prevention and control, said people visiting relations and friends should not come to the hospital until 48 hours after symptoms of vomiting and diarrhoea have gone.

She added: “The virus can be really debilitating and, for people already in hospital, is even worse.”
