Park and ride shut due to flooding

Loddon Bridge Park and Ride is closed this morning due to heavy rainfall last night.

Lands End Ford in Charvil is also closed because of raised water levels.

Church Lane in Shinfield is temporarily closed between Brookers Hill and Hyde End Lane because of flooding.

Not sure why this still makes headline news. Would make more of a story to be told that the Park and Ride was actually open!

I distinctly remember residents telling the planners that this area was prone to flooding before it was built.

As you suggest you didn't need to be a brain surgeon to work that one out! However the planners pressed ahead anyway.

I suspect the vast amount of tarmac in the flood plain has also had an impact further down stream.

When will Wokingham Borough Council start listening to residents?
