Rail delays continue after person hit by train

By David Millward
October 30, 2012

Disruption to rail services are expected to continue until 1pm after a person was hit by a train in Cholsey this morning.

Services running between Reading and Didcot are being delayed and having knock-on affect to journeys between Reading and London Paddington.

Some trains are being cancelled and others delayed for up to an hour.

Other train operators, including South West Trains, are accepting First Great Western passengers until further notice.

One commuter said: "I was expecting the station to be clear this morning with it being half-term, but all of the trains were severely delayed or cancelled.

"I managed to get on one but it looked as though staff had to block people entering the platform as it had become really crowde.

"I think I got on the only running train to Paddington."
