Vandalised trees in Twyford will be replaced say Parish Council

By Jon Nurse
October 18, 2012

Vandalised trees in a community orchard will be replaced by the parish council.

Stanlake Meadow off Waltham Road has lost a quarter of its trees after six were ripped from the ground by vandals and five failed to survive last year’s winter.

Twyford Parish Council’s parish lands committee will replace the trees at a cost of around £200 and will also invest in 20 tree supports, costing more than £800, funded by the Community Orchard Lottery funding and a contingency fund. A £50 donation by Twyford Round Table will go towards the costs of tree supports.
