Power cut hits thousands this morning

Thousands of homes lost power for thirty minutes this morning after a safety switch was activated.
Around 2,500 properties spanning from Hurst to Winnersh lost power just before 9.30am.
Winnersh's Sainsbury's superstore and The Forest School in Robin Hood Lane were affected by the cut.
A Southern Electric spokeswoman said: "Engineers checked the network and found everything was safe so the power was switched back on from our control room in Portsmouth just before 10am.
"We would like to apologise to everyone affected this morning."
