Delays for London Waterloo to Reading passengers tonight

By Jonathan Low
October 12, 2012

Train passengers travelling from London Waterloo to Wokingham and Bracknell are being advised to find an alternative route after a major power failure caused wide-spread signalling problems.

Passengers are likely to face delays this evening on South West Trains because of a reduced service from London Waterloo.

Those travelling between London and Reading are advised to use the First Great Western services from London Paddington instead.

Jake Kelly, customer service director for the South West Trains/Network Rail Alliance, said: “We apologise to our customers for the disruption to their services.

"We are working hard to recover from this major power failure as quickly as possible, although we do expect services to be delayed for the remainder of the evening."

South West Trains passengers may use their ticket to travel on First Great Western, Southern, London Overground, London Underground and London buses via any reasonable routes.

The changes are expected to apply until the end of the day.
