Fitness fanatic Sue Davenport completes 1000th Curves workout

A fitness fanatic who suffered from polio as a child celebrated her 1,000th workout at her gym.

Sue Davenport, a member of Curves, in Denton Road, was congratulated by owner Bev Gellard.

Mrs Davenport said: “Having had polio as a child I had very limited movement of my right leg. I had been advised to undertake weight bearing exercises.

“After the first week at Curves back in 2006 my whole family noticed a difference straight away – I was able to go upstairs without difficulty. I am now able to participate in family and sponsored walks, something I never imagined I could do.”

In her first two years at Curves, Mrs Davenport lost two stone and dropped two dress sizes.

“I love coming to Curves as all the coaches are always so friendly and encouraging,” she said.

“My last bone density scan showed no deterioration and I know that exercising at Curves has played a big part in that.”
