A taste of Abba at Baranda

October 05, 2012

More than £200 was raised for charity at an Abba night.

Guests enjoyed a meal at Baranda restaurant, in Peach Street, followed by a performance from tribute act ABBA Devine.

The event, on Tuesday, September 18, raised £260 for Mayor of Wokingham Town Peter Lucey’s chosen charity, Wokingham & District Association for the Elderly (WADE).

Cllr Lucey said: “It was my great pleasure to open the refurbished Baranda restaurant. It looked wonderful and I’m sure it will add to the continued success of the Baranda in Wokingham. Thanks to all who attended this wonderful dinner – and the Abba tribute – and who so generously supported my charity.

“Of course my thanks also to Faruk Bhuiya and his team for organising these regular charity nights. It is very civic-minded and very much appreciated.”
