Twyford gets set for Charity Family Fun Run

October 05, 2012

Villagers are gearing up for Sunday’s first Twyford Village Partnership (TVP) fun run.

A large banner, prepared by organisers and sponsors, has been on an unexpected journey around the village.

The advert spent a brief spell on a footbridge near The Piggott School, before the Highways Agency repositioned it by Twyford Bowling Club, in Wargrave Road.

Organisers visited pupils at The Piggott, The Colleton Primary and Polehampton Infant and Junior Schools last month.

Gordon Storey, of TVP, said: “We’re leaving no stone unturned. It’s going to be a great event – a fun morning out for the families.

“Every penny collected through entry fees and sponsorship is going to Twyford Charities Together, which is fantastic.”

Runners will complete a one-mile circuit of The Piggott School, in Twyford Road, Wargrave. Young runners, from the age of four, will win gold medals for completing their event, while adults will finish the day competing in a final race.

The event costs £3 to enter or £5 on the day. Email tvp@live.co.uk for an entry form.
