Hunt for elderly man who damaged car before driving off in Winnersh

By Hugh Fort
September 27, 2012

A shopper who drove into and badly damaged another car before driving off is being hunted by police.

Officers want to speak to an elderly man who drove his dark coloured Vauxhall Insignia into a black Peugeout 407 in the car park at Sainsbury's in King Street Lane in Winnersh at around 12.30pm on Sunday.

Police say the man hit the other car before getting out, inspecting the considerable damage and then driving off.

The man hit the Peugeot with such force it moved out of its parking space.

Anyone with information can call 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.

Have the police looked at sainsbury's CCTV cameras? There are some in the car park.

Is there a way of cross referencing all registered owners of Vauxhaul Insignias within a 30 mile radius against the names of Nectar Card / Debit Card / Credit Card users used in the store prior to the incident?
