Lorry leaks oil on to A329(M)

By Jon Nurse
September 26, 2012

Smoking oil dripped from a lorry on to the A329(M) this afternoon.

The lorry pulled over after smoke started coming from its exhaust around 200m north of the Coppid Beech Roundabout, spilling oil on to the road.

Fire crews from Wokingham, Wokingham Road and Bracknell fire stations were sent to the Motorway at 3.10pm, where a lane was shut northbound as the spill was dealt with by police.

Wokingham Road fire station crew manager Che Scott said: "It appears an oil pipe got loose and dripped on to the exhaust manifold causing quite a bit of smoke to spill out.

"It would have looked worse than it is for drivers going past."

Fire crews attended for 30 minutes before they left for police to organise the lane closure.
