MP Dr Phillip Lee welcomes Thames Valley cash boost

Local business has been given a boost after an organisation aiming to improve Thames Valley business received an additional Government grant.

The Thames Valley Berkshire Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP) has received an additional £125,000 from The Government.

The LEP works with business leaders and colleges and higher education establisments to develop and grow the region and improve employment prospect.

The move has been welcomed by Bracknell MP Dr Phillip Lee.

He said: "“I am delighted that the Government has awarded the Thames Valley Berkshire Local Enterprise Partnership with an additional £5m in 2012 to help covering their costs and to drive forward their excellent work locally.

"This money will help local economic growth, supporting projects to boost their economies and strengthening governance.

"I am particularly pleased about their work with with the six Berkshire unitary authorities to widen access to superfast broadband.

"TVB LEP initiatives will help companies to grow, create jobs and prosperity.”
