Over 50s who would like to try a new sport can pick up a bow and arrow at weekly archery classes.
The classes, which launch on Monday, take place at Loddon Valley Leisure Centre, in Lower Earley, every Monday from 10.30am to 11.30am for £4.20 a session.
Andrea Ford, physical activity coordinator at Wokingham Borough Council, said: “Archery offers a variety of benefits; it is open to all as both able-bodied and disabled people can take part and it improves focus, patience and self-confidence, as well as developing physical strength.
“These classes are also very social and enjoyable so why not come along one Monday and give it a go?”
There is no need to book and classes are open to beginners.
The sessions are part of the council’s SHINE Physical Activity Programme for over 50s.
SHINE Members receive a discount on classes (archery costs £3.80), member newsletters, discounts at local businesses and other benefits.
