To be clear I dind't actually report the comment, I don't know who did if at all.

I just think we ought to be careful on commneting. It is possible we may even be prejudicing any possible court case by posting certian things. If the defence were aware of the comments they could raise them to indicate the possibility of a fair trial being influenced.

The accident was actually not that close to the garden centre despite reports. I was unfortunate enough to drive past here at the same time as the ambulance arrived. It happened on the Reading side of Hare Hatch on the very wide, almost straight bit of road. It was absolutely nothing to do with a junction. It appears the cyclist was hit from behind.

It's also a very difficult junction coming out of Wyevale.

I am a cyclist, motorcyclist and car driver and have, as you all know, little or no sympathy for many motorists.

However I do think that speculation on what the driver was doing when the accident happened is slightly wrong. Lets wait until she is charged, if she is, and convicted before we set the hounds on her shall we please? If it turns out she is guilty then throw the proverbial at her but I tend to prefer to wait for due process myself.

Unfortunately the junction next to the garden centre is very dangerous - lots of drivers pulling out from the Twyford Road in front of fast traffic. You need your wits about you around there, hence the (more than once) lowered speed limit.

My condolences to the friends and family of the cyclist involved....

How many more people will be killed or maimed at that junction before common sense will be prevail and a large roundabout installed???

The Council has just spent money on the junction and it causes more accidents than before!!

@Spanky - they shouldn't but they do; and unfortunately they always will. A moment's inattention has destroyed lives.

My condolences to the friends and family of the cyclist and I hope the driver is one day able to come to terms with what she has done.

A pretty straight road, good weather conditions and in daylight - incidents like this should not happen
