More than 2,000 homes suffer power cut

By Laura Herbert
September 13, 2012

More than 2,000 homes were left without power for up to two hours in Wokingham last night.

At around 7.30pm 2,380 Southern Electric customers lost power because of a fault with the company's overhead power network.

The company re-routed the supply and restored power in stages with the last customer receiving electricity by 9.30pm.

A spokesman for Southern Electric said: "Permanent repairs are taking place today. We apologise for any inconvenience caused."
