Stand in Evendons By-Election

A By-Election has been called for the Evendons East ward of Wokingham Town Council following the resignation of Councillor Philip Houldsworth.
Nominations for anyone wanting to take his place must be lodged with the borough council by midday on Friday.
Cllr Houldsworth, who also serves on Wokingham Borough Council, said he stood down from the town council to concentrate on his borough work and for family reasons.
He said: “I enjoyed my five years on the town council and I was very impressed with the new councillors who are doing great things.”
If Cllr Houldsworth’s seat is contested, a by-election will take place on Thursday, October 4. If there is only one nomination, the candidate will be co-opted onto the council.
