Tunnel fire at Broadmoor Hospital

By Jon Nurse
August 21, 2012

Building work cutting pipes in Broadmoor Hospital started a fire earlier today.

Engines from Wokingham and Camberley fire stations were sent to the hospital in Kentigern Drive, Crowthorne, at around 11.45am.

Steve Beard, watch manager at Wokingham fire station, said: "Work was going on cutting some pipes in a disused part of the hospital. This caused a very small fire further along a 25 foot length of tunnel that the men couldn't access."

Firefighters used a hose reel to put out the blaze and attended the scene for about an hour.
