Festival tickets up for grabs in Byte Night fundraiser

August 10, 2012

A summer raffle offering tickets to this month’s Reading Festival is joining a bid to raise £5 million for a young people’s charity.

Byte Night, an IT sector fundraising evening for Action for Children, is hoping to improve on the £4.3m it raised last year.

Borough councillor and chief executive of Pocket App Paul Swaddle has been a board member for Byte Night in the Thames Valley for the past few years.

Cllr Swaddle said: “I and Pocket App are supporting Byte Night 2012.

“This year we are running a raffle in aid of Action for Children, simply text ACTION to 70800 to donate £5.”

Prizes for the raffle include two tickets to Reading Festival, a family cruise with Thames River Cruises, and video games. Winners will be selected on Friday, August 17, with festival ticket holders contacted the same day and other prize winners within seven days.
