Dr Phillip Lee hears broadband concerns

July 31, 2012

Poor broadband speeds, immigration, and the European Union were concerns raised by the audience at a public meeting in Finchampstead.

More than 100 people attended the question and answer session organised by Bracknell MP Phillip Lee at the Memorial Hall on July 5.

Peter Cowen, BT’s partnership director for the South East, answered questions about the village’s internet blackspot.

Broadband speeds are expected to improve with the upgrading of the Eversley exchange this month.

Is it really? How strange. Thanks Steve.

Because by a quirk of the electoral boundaries Finchampstead is part of the Bracknell constituency - and the meeting was in Finchampstead. Apparently having equal numbers of electors in each constituency is more important than where those electors might feel that they actually live.

I'm curious why the MP for Bracknell is meeting in Wokingham?
