Plans for Jigsaw Creative Care training centre

July 25, 2012

Plans to build an education and training centre for people with special needs and behavioural difficulties are expected to be given the go-ahead.

Jigsaw Creative Care Ltd wants to build three buildings to provide education and training and create a garden area with a cafe and farm shop to sell produce from its site in Spencers Wood.

The plans include demolishing the existing buildings on land behind Derydene, off Basingstoke Road.

Three letters of objection have been received from neighbours highlighting security issues, cooking smells and concerns about the proposed use of the site.

The application aims to provide education, training and employment for people with behavioural difficulties and needs ranging from those with autistic disorders to people with mental health problems or brain injuries.

A decision will be made by Wokingham Borough Council’s planning committee when it meets at the Civic Office in Shute End from 7pm tonight.
