A revitalised pavilion in Wargrave has received a financial boost after securing a sponsorship deal.
The Old Pavilion in the Recreation Ground will be sponsored by broadband and mobile provider TalkTalk for the next 12 months.
The funding will be used to maintain the services provided and to develop the building further. Steve Hedges, from The Old Pavilion, said: “The Old Pavilion is a very old building that plays a central role in local life, with organisations and societies meeting here.
“We are looking to develop the second half of the building to enable us to increase its usage. The financial support from TalkTalk is fantastic and will go towards us achieving that aim.” The pavilion reopened last year after a £35,000 refurbishment.
TalkTalk commercial director Tristia Clarke said: “We are proud to be supporting the fantastic work being done at The Old Pavilion. The hall is a hub for community activities and a real asset to the area.”
The company is investing £50,000 in technology to bring new broadband offers to Wargrave and is expanding its Next Generation Network in the area, which gives customers access to fast broadband services.
