Man arrested in Twyford car crash investigation

July 02, 2012

A Reading man has been arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving after a 12-year-old boy and a woman were injured in a car crash in Twyford last month.

The woman and the boy were travelling away from Reading along New Bath Road in a Mini when they collided with a Honda S2000 coming in the opposite direction on Sunday, June 24, at around 6.30pm.

The woman, who was driving the Mini, and the boy were both taken to the Royal Berkshire Hospital by ambulance for treatment to minor injuries.

PC Matthew Clayton said: "I am very keen to speak to the driver of a white or light coloured Ford Fiesta which was travelling along the A4 towards Knowl Hill at the time or anyone who may have seen what happened or seen any of the cars being driven along the A4 at Twyford prior to the collision."

A 27-year-old Reading man has been arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving and has been bailed until Sunday, July 22.

If you have any information you can call police on 101 or the charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
