Every day, the Britain I live in and the Britain I would like to live in slip apart, like greased icebergs. The man's an accountant, put in nominal charge of the board of whatever trust runs the Royal Berks this week. Imagine every square inch of the hospital concerned less with clinical excellence, and more with revenue-generating opportunities. Friends of the hospital might count their days. Woe, twice and thrice woe.

Pubcos, drowning in their own debt created by borrowing against over inflated asset values.

As LabCon PPI disaster starts to hit the fan, this could be a genius appointment!

Further evidence,if any were needed of just how ludicrous this country has become,no doubt next we will have MacDonald's bosses on the NHS management after creating the crap foods that make so many Brit's disgustingly obese!

Actually, it is literally what you need. Someone who has been relatively successful in the business world who can help contribute towards the efficient running of the hospital.

You seem to have an overinflated concept of the power the chairman has though

Punch taverns, well known for pricing their landlords out of business by charging excessive rents and tying them in to financially unviable supply contracts. Great choice by the government there, nice to see it's not simply jobs for the boys as usual.

Oh blimey thats all we need - a business man in charge of a hospital - he'll get his name plate on his office door first thing - I bet ya ! and then get several managerial assistants. The patients will become a nuisance to him and his profit margins and he won't even know there is an oath that all doctors and nurses make when they are in training. Gawd 'elp us all.
