The event was held in line with Mental Health Awareness Week ran until Sunday, May 27.

This year’s theme was Doing Good Does You Good as research shows carrying out an act of kindness improves your mental health.

Not doing that good though. A self referral still involves having to make contact via phone. It is still designed for 'well' people to access. Those like me who are ill but have a fear of using the phone are unable to even make contact. Our GP just gives us a talking therapies leaflet with a phone number to call & sends us on our way knowing this will be totally useless to us. But all they care about is that they can tick a box to make it seem like they have actually done something to offer support, when in fact they have just made things worse!
