Mum's marathon effort for Daisy's Dream

A generous mum has handed thousands of pounds to a charity after a marathon effort this spring.
Lisa Bain ran the London Marathon in April and organised a quiz at the Duke of Wellington pub to raise money for Daisy’s Dream, a charity working with bereaved families in Berkshire.
“The marathon went well and I am delighted to have hit my target of £2,000 thanks to the generosity of my work colleagues, friends and customers,” Mrs Bain said.
The mum-of-two, who manages the Tile and Bathroom Place store in London Road, handed a cheque for £2,011 to Daisy’s Dream last month.
Her Olympic quiz night on April 19 raised more than £500 to push her past her fundraising target.
“I’ve been taking things easy since the marathon,” she said.
“I’m focussing on family and work commitments, and giving my knees a chance to recover from all that training – but I’ll be back. I’ve entered again for next year and will do a few half marathons later this summer just to keep me fit.”
