Dismay over second attack on Local Barber Shop

June 06, 2012

A frustrated business owner is seeking answers after windows at his barbershop were damaged twice in less than a month.

Bricks were thrown at the Local Barber Shop in Broad Street, Wokingham, overnight on Saturday, May 26, less than a month after the shop opened in its new location.

Owner Simon Busby said: “That’s twice the windows have been smashed now. It was annoying the first time, but we thought it might just have been a drunk.

“It’s weird it’s happened twice. They’ve obviously gone out of their way to target us and used bricks from the building site opposite. Unfortunately there weren’t any cameras there.”

The shop’s windows were previously damaged on Thursday, May 3.

The attacks have cost Mr Busby more than £1,000. “It’s annoying but I’m trying to remain positive,” he said. “It hasn’t stopped us trading.”

A police spokesman said: “Investigations into both offences are ongoing and anyone who has any information about the incidents or has witnessed any suspicious activity in Broad Street on the nights in question should contact PC Anthony Sams via the 24-hour Police Enquiry Centre on 101.”

Little sods... too many people these days think it's fine to drop litter, jump on car bonnets, throw bricks at windows... Were they not brought up correctly?
