Man charged with Woodley burglary

An Aldermaston man has been charged in connection with a house burglary in Woodley.

Richard Bowers, of Paices Hill, is charged with burgling a property in Duncan Road, on May 5 and with the attempted burglary of a property in Kempe Close, Slough on May 31.

The 26-year-old also faces a charge of burglary and of attempted burglary in Surrey.

A 17-year-old boy from Essex has also been charged with one count of burglary in Surrey and two counts of attempted burglary, including the incident in Slough.

Three other people have been arrested in connection with a number of burglaries which have happened in Berkshire since April.

A 25-year-old Newbury man and an 18-year-old woman from Basingstoke have been released on bail until the end of June. A 27-year-old man from Essex remains in custody.

Bowers and the 17-year-old boy were due to appear before Reading Magistrates today.
