Queen congratulates diamond anniversary couple

A couple celebrated their diamond wedding anniversary with a card from the Queen, who is also celebrating the landmark date.
Margaret and Colin Rogers, from Pine Drive in Finchampstead, enjoyed a meal at Casa Dei Cesari restaurant in Yateley with family and friends, including their children Neil and Shelagh, on Monday, April 23.
Mrs Rogers, 81, said: “We had a finger buffet and drinks do at our home on the Sunday and on the Monday we had lunch with two dozen friends and family.”
Of the card from the Queen, she said: “It was a nice surprise because it arrived on our anniversary so we took it to the meal to show everyone.”
Mrs Rogers’ husband Colin, 82, was born in Crowthorne and the couple have lived in Finchampstead since 1999.
