Swim for a £1 extended

A leisure centre is expanding a cheap swim scheme which aims to encourage people to start swimming.
The Swim for £1 weekend offer at Bulmershe Leisure Centre in Woodlands Avenue has been extended for another year by Woodley Town Council’s leisure services committee.
The offer applies to every public session at weekends, including inflatable and mat splash sessions.
Under 16s can now swim for £1 during school holidays and swim vouchers have been added to the Recyclebank reward scheme for recycling waste in the borough.
Councillor Kay Gilder, chair of the committee, said: “Swimming is an excellent exercise for all ages.
“We also hope we will see new swimmers using their Recyclebank vouchers to enjoy the facilities.”
