A lucky fan had a right Royal time when he spent the day working alongside Sir John Madejski.
Jamie Cable won the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to gain work experience with the Reading FC chairman as part of npower’s What’s Your Goal? campaign, which encourages youngsters to think about their future careers and offers a variety of placements at football clubs across the country.
The 14-year-old spent last Wednesday attending meetings and touring the Madejski Stadium with Sir John, even giving a presentation to him on how he thought the club could support its local community.
Jamie, of Marks Road, Wokingham, said: “I had a fantastic time at Reading FC with Sir John Madejski. He was a great mentor and gave me some top tips on working in the football industry, including being a successful club owner.
“This experience has really inspired me to follow my dreams of working in the football league.”
Sir John said: “It was great working with Jamie and showing him what it takes be a successful club owner, on what Jamie witnessed was a very special day for Reading FC.
“I have been very impressed with Jamie’s passion for Reading FC and enthusiasm. I hope we’ve been able to inspire him to follow his dreams of working in the football industry.”
