Spotlight on housing for older peopleBy Laura Herbert
April 16, 2012
Over 55s in Wokingham are being asked to complete a questionnaire to help the borough work out housing needs for older people in the future.
The survey, which asks about housing requirements now and in the future, will help shape future housing policy to make sure plans for new homes, including the housing type, quantity and location, are based on accurate information and will meet the needs of residents.
Stuart Rowbotham, general manager for commissioning at Wokingham Borough Council, said: “While 55 may not be considered old these days, we do need to hear from as many people as possible who are 55 and over so that we can future proof our plans for housing in the borough.
“The more people who reply, the more accurate the council can be in understanding what sorts of homes are needed now and in the future.”
Questionnaires must be returned by Monday, April 30.
