Pottery Pals celebrate fifth birthday

There were smiles all round at a Wokingham pottery barn as staff raised a glass to celebrate its fifth birthday.

Sian Sherry and Jill Mills, founders of Pottery Pals at Holme Grange Craft Village in Heathlands Road, toasted the anniversary with Champagne on Thursday, January 19.

Ms Sherry said: “Since starting up the business we have taken pride in being able to offer an enjoyable family experience, giving children the chance to have fun while letting parents unwind.

“We try to give as much help as we can to budding artists and a cup of coffee is always on offer too.”

During Pottery Pals’ birthday celebrations the ceramic studio was turned into party room with birthday cake and bubbly for its customers.

And the co-founders also made a toast to surviving the recession which has seen many small businesses struggle in recent years.

Ms Mills said: “We have had our own set of challenges in the past five years.

“In recession-hit times we are really pleased to be a young business looking to continue our growth.”

The studio is hoping to continue to expand over the coming year to offer even more ceramic events to the local community.
