Scouts and cubs take on African theme for camping weekend

June 01, 2011

More than 100 Scouts and Cubs showed their parents how to toast marshmallows at an African-themed camping weekend.

Youngsters from the 1st Twyford Scouts set up their tents in Henley for the weekend on Saturday, May 21, for the 26th annual parent, son and daughter camp.

For the first year the camp was divided into 15 patrols which battled it out to be crowned the winning team at the end of the weekend.

The camp also took on an African theme in honour of Scouts and leaders who are travelling to Uganda later in the summer to complete community work.
