Woodley car boot sale to be held twice a month
February 22, 2011
Bargain hunters who were out in force to snap up items at the Woodley town centre car boot sale were delighted to learn there will be an extra event each month.
From March shoppers will be able to sell their unwanted items and pick up a bargain on the second Sunday of the month as well as the traditional car boot on the last Sunday of each month.
Jacques Lherbier, town centre manager, said: “When we started the contract in January 2010 we said we would assess it at the end of the year and if it worked we would think about adding another.
“It’s a fantastic location for a car boot in the centre of the town and so we have decided to add another.
“Hopefully it will be good for the town centre, good for the Town Centre Management Initiative and it should also increase the footfall which will be good for the traders.
“With Lidl now open and Waitrose we have got two major players who open on Sunday and hopefully it will be a nice surprise for people to arrive
and be able to explore what’s going it.”
