Consultation seeks views on the buses

July 28, 2010

Bus users in Woodley are being given the opportunity to voice their opinions about the service after public transport was highlighted as a priority for the town.

Public consultation for Wokingham Borough Council’s third local transport plan pinpointed public transport as a key issue for people in Woodley and Earley, with a particular focus on the bus services.

Residents are being asked to complete a questionnaire during a six-week consultation period which started on Monday, July 19. The questionnaire asks for opinions on topics such as service funding, discounts and bus use.

The aim of the consultation is to help the council understand the travel patterns, views and opinions of people who travel or would like to travel to or from Woodley and Earley by bus.

The questionnaire can be filled in online at www.wokingham.gov.uk/transport-and-streets/publictransport or a paper copy can be requested by calling (0118) 974 6000.

Typical of WBC to hold a consultation with the public over the summer holidays!! And it doesn't even go in the WTimes until a 10 days after it started!! Wokingham Times please repeat this story weekly in your paper so that resident within Woodley & Earley can find out about it and then complete the form online. For anyone who would prefer a paper copy of the of the consultation form, they are available at Maiden Erlegh Library, Woodley Library, Lower Earley Library, Asda, Woodley and Earley Town Council Offices, Earley Crescent Community Resource Centre and the Mobile Information Centre or alternatively by telephoning the Council on 0118 9746000.
