Hitting the road with crime and safety advice

July 23, 2010

Residents have been collecting information on anti-social behaviour, alcohol abuse, drugs and crime prevention at a series of roadshows.

The summer events, which were timed to coincide with the World Cup earlier this month, involved police and Wokingham Borough Council community safety officers hitting the road with safety messages for residents.

The final roadshow was at Asda in Lower Earley on Wednesday, July 7. Other stops have included Sainsbury’s in King Street Lane, Winnersh.

Stephanie Meyrick, community safety officer, said: “We have been getting really positive reports.

“Everyone has been really happy to pick up information and they can also report concerns about what they feel is happening in their community.”
