Man dies after being struck by train in Twyford

A man has died after being struck by a train at Twyford railway station.

British Transport Police (BTP) were called to the station at 7.10pm last night.

BTP spokesman Steven Fifer said: “BTP officers attended alongside the Royal Berkshire Fire & Rescue Service and paramedics from the South Central Ambulance Service, but the man was pronounced dead at the scene.

"The incident is being treated as non-suspicious.

“A file will be prepared for the coroner.”

A crew from Wokingham Road fire station attended the incident. Firefighter Ryan Timms said: "We provided lighting to the police."

The train involved was travelling from Swansea to Paddington.
