Check out your fences to keep crooks out

March 12, 2010

Homeowners are being reminded to replace insecure fences damaged by the December and January snow.

PC Matt Rees, who represents West Reading and Tilehurst’s Norcot neighbourhood, said: “With winter finally retreating, I would encourage residents to have a good look at their home security and, where applicable, the perimeters of their property.

“Now is an ideal time to replace frost and moisture damaged fences before foliage starts re-growing, and what better time to start planning security friendly planting with thorny or spiky plants.”
