Anti-social behaviour crackdown this weekend

March 12, 2010

Anti-social behaviour will be targeted at two hotspots this weekend.

Police will be focusing on Woodley and Woosehill as part of Operation Lion Cub, Wokingham Local Policing Area’s (LPA) crackdown on anti-social behaviour.

Anti-social behaviour is the top priority in Woodley and officers will be holding a street briefing in Woodlands Avenue, tonight at 6.30pm.

Reports of anti-social behaviour, including graffiti at Smith’s Walk, have prompted officers to focus on Woosehill.

They will be holding a street briefing in Heron Road tomorrow at 6.30pm.

Wokingham anti-social behaviour officer, PC Naomi Jolliffe, said: “Operation Lion Cub focuses on anti-social behaviour hotspots as highlighted by calls to both police and Wokingham Borough Council.

“Volunteers are given a dedicated mobile number to call us about any anti-social behaviour which is occurring, and then dedicated Operation Lion Cub officers can swiftly respond.

“The operation has been really successful since it began in October.”
