Evendons councillor resigns

A long-standing councillor has been forced to step down from his position because of illness.
Councillor Denis Morgan, who had been serving constituents in the Evendons ward at Wokingham Borough Councillor since 1997, handed over his resignation to council bosses earlier this year.
His departure was formally announced to fellow members at a meeting of the council last month.
Cllr Barrie Patman, the borough mayor, said in his mayor’s notices at a council meeting: “Denis Morgan has succumbed to illness and has given in his formal resignation.
“He had been a councillor for Evendons since 1997.”
