By Alice Murphy
February 25, 2010

A woman was taken to hospital after her car flipped onto its side following a crash in Winnersh.

The woman had to be cut out of the dark blue Vauxhall Corsa by firefighters after it collided with a red Toyota Starlet outside Sainsbury's in Reading Road at 2.45pm.

The road was closed for an hour causing major delays to traffic.

Fire crews from Wokingham and the rescue support crew from Slough were called the the scene and used cutting and stabalising equipment to free the woman.

The woman, who was the only casualty, was taken to the Royal Berkshire Hospital in Reading.
