Indoor skatepark & BMX track bid for rainy days

February 17, 2010

Calls for an indoor skatepark or BMX track for Lower Earley’s Sol Joel Park will be made at a meeting tomorrow.

Resident Connor Deutrom will tell members of Wokingham Borough Council it is impossible to use the area’s outdoor skateparks in bad weather.

Plans for an outdoor BMX track in Lower Earley were given the go ahead by planning bosses at the borough council last year.

Earley Town Council headed up plans for the 300-metre track near Paddick Drive following demand from local young people.

Mr Deutrom will ask councillors to provide the indoor facility at a meeting tomorrow from 8pm at Shute End.

Maintaining will mainly mean graffiti removal and syringe collection unfortunately.

Great idea. I hope the skateboarders have raised enough cash to build, maintain, insure and staff it.
