How can borough be safer?

February 08, 2010

The region’s top cop will address residents about safety and what the community can do to make the borough better at a public meeting this week.

Keynote speaker at the annual community safety conference will be Chief Constable Sara Thornton discussing the work of police in Wokingham and beyond.

As well as the talk from  Thames Valley Police chief, visitors can take part in workshops where they can make their views on community safety known on a range of issues.

The conference helps to inform police and Wokingham Borough Council on what local people’s priorities are for tackling crime and disorder.

The conference will include an open meeting of the community safety strategy group, with an opportunity for visitors to question members of the group.

The conference will take place at the Salvation Army Hall in Chalfont Close, Lower Earley, on Wednesday from 9.15am to 3pm. Lunch is provided.

Places must be booked for catering arrangements.

To book a place phone (0118) 912 3140 or email admin@vawb.org.uk.
